Jim & Diane Harrison purchased Canemount (40 acres and 7 buildings) from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries in December 2016.  We are Minnesota natives and raised our family in Minnetonka, MN.

 

Our son introduced us to the area in 2015 by purchasing the antebellum home Collina in Port Gibson, and shortly thereafter opened Collina Plantation Inn. We quickly found that the area has a deep history, is lush in forest and wildlife, and has many antebellum homes and friendly people.

 

Canemount has been a wonderful journey of discovery for us. The craftsmanship that went into the home is superb.  We have read many stories about the people who built this home (many of their letters are kept by universities studying southern life) and those that occupied the home in recent years.

 

It is a wonderful property that we love to share with others.
